Light refreshments will be provided.\n\nRead more from the AMC below:\n\nThe Appalachian Mountain Club and the Conservation Fund are working to purchase and permanently protect nearly 29\,000 acres known as the Barnard Forest. This forest is adjacent to AMC's Maine Woods property in Piscataquis County\, Maine and advances AMC's Maine Woods Initiative (MWI)\, which seeks to conserve and protect a corridor of more than a million contiguous acres from Monson to Baxter State Park. The property will allow AMC to continue its work to conserve the entirety of the West Branch of the Pleasant River Watershed\, improve climate resilience\, and restore guaranteed public access.
