SUMMARY:Chainsaw Safety Workshop for Women
DESCRIPTION:PCSWCD's Chainsaw Safety Workshop will provide participants with a well-rounded introduction on how they should safely handle\, maintain and use a chainsaw. We will be hosting presenter Sam Heffner\, Maine Forest Ranger\, and he will provide hands-on instruction\, demonstrations and information. Sam Heffner has worked as a forest ranger with the Maine Forest Service for 16 years and has 12 years' experience instructing Chainsaw Safety workshops to various organizations. Additionally\, Sam was a professional logger for several years and competed regionally and nationally in the Game of Logging. \n\n \n\nWorkshop topics will include an overview of chainsaw safety equipment and features\, maintenance\, sharpening\, proper cuts\, step-by-step tree felling and more. The workshop is broken up into 2 days to provide participants with a comprehensive overview of handling\, working with and fixing a chainsaw. Much of this workshop will be hands-on and participants will come away feeling comfortable handling and working with a chainsaw.\n\n\n\nThere are only 6 spots available\, so be sure to register quickly\, as we expect this class to fill up. LOCATION:Williamsburg Forest From Rt. 11 in Brownville: Take a left onto High St. across from the AE Robinson Irving. It goes up Brown Hill and continues past Moses Greenleaf monument. This road will turn into the Old Williamsburg Rd\, and will turn to dirt\, passing several homes. The site is 2/3 of a mile beyond the last home and is marked with a sign on the right hand side. From Sebec Village: Follow the paved road north to Moses Greenleaf monument or the "T" in the road. Turn left and continue north on the Old Williamsburg Rd.
