Piscataquis County offers many memorable events, fairs and festivals throughout the year. Events kick-off in the spring with the Annual (Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis-sponsored) Piscataquis River Race from Guilford to Dover-Foxcroft. June ushers in warmer weather and festivals such as Milo’s Black Fly Festival and Dover-Foxcroft’s beloved Whoopie Pie Festival (penned “Maine’s Sweetest Festival”), followed by the Piscataquis RiverFestival, held in Guilford in July. Right before the start of the new school year, families and children can enjoy the Piscataquis County Fair, held on the fairgrounds in Dover Foxcroft.

July 4th Fireworks held on July 3rd with Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Sausage Rolls, Chips, Soda, Water, Popcorn, Cotton Candy and Bake Sale with Whoopie Pies of many flavors. Fun will be had by all so don't be left out by staying home.
July 4th in Sebec Village with Parade, Canoe Race and Chicken and/or Ribs BBQ. What a fun way to visit with friends and family while enjoying a parade, canoe race, raffles and food. If there is anything left from the Bake Sale on the 3rd, then that will be available, as well as Popcorn and Cotton Candy. We love coming together as a community and visiting.

Monson Arts hosts ''The Conference on Poetry & Learning'' which invites educators, teaching artists, and other poetry advocates to work intensely with their colleagues and a faculty of distinguished poets who are experts in both teaching poetry and creating community. The 2024 faculty features conference director Dawn Potter, associate director Teresa Carson, and visiting poet Maudelle Driskell.
Krystal Light Gallery & Salon is hosting a classical and folk music festival/series throughout July and August. Opening night, 7/5/24, will feature Olga Zhuravel Maselli performing favorite opera arias. There will be visiting NY based Russian classical pianist, Alexander Chaplinsky, folk performer, Stuart Tisdale, local musicians including, the newly formed ensemble, On the Light Side Orchestra, as well as tributes to folk musicians Bob Dylan and Phil Oches.
